We found Mexicans!

And more importantly real Mexican food! In Piazza della Repubblica on Sunday evenings, the sidewalks are lined with street vendors selling tamales, pozole, rotisserie chicken, tacos, burritos, sodas, and beer. Plastic containers of salsa and peppers hang from the fence, waiting to douse your meal. Bad music blares from boom boxes, and everyone sits around eating deliciously bad for you food.

(Discovery made on way back from train station after a fabulous weekend in Umbria. Details and pictures to come.... Right, Jack?)

But is it GOOD Mexican food?? As good as Austin?? (hint, hint). Don't you miss all those cool places in Austin that serve really great Mexican food?? :-) :-) Love, Mom

Just wondering if those tamales actually are any good? Have you been back?

Yes, they were good. But no, we haven't been back. The problem is that they're only open on Sunday evenings, and they are located by the train station. The only time I find myself by the train station on a Sunday evening is when I'm returning from a trip, and it's usually past Nora's bedtime and I want to get her home. Also there was a HUGE hair in my masa last time, and that may have ruined it for me.
